SOLOMON R. GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM NEW YORK (EXPANSION AND RENOVATION) - 1988-1992 (CHARLES GWATHMEY)
Frank Lloyd Wright’s original plans for the Guggenheim Museum included an unrealized 10 story tower to house galleries, offices, workrooms, storage, and private studio apartments. This project included a major interior restoration of the Wright building and an eight story annex tower that together resulted in 4,750 square meters of new and renovated exhibition galleries, a restored restaurant, retrofitted support and storage space, and new office space.
