MINSHENG 751 MUSEUM - BEIJING, CHINA

In 2011, GCAM was retained by Minsheng Art Museum (a non-profit organization sponsored and funded by the China Minsheng Banking Corporation to establish activities in the arts) to conduct a Concept Development Study for a Minsheng Art Museum at Factory 751.  This was to be a new museum of contemporary art to be sited in a former factory that is part of the 798 Art District in Beijing.  The 798 Art District is a part of Dashanzi in the Chaoyang District of Beijing that houses a thriving artistic community, among 50-year old decommissioned military factory buildings of unique architectural style.

GCAM worked in collaboration with Studio Pei Zhu as the architect on this 38,000sm project.  Construction was completed and the Museum opened in 2015.
