GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM GUADALAJARA - MEXICO 2005-2006 (ENRIQUE NORTEN)
Enrique Norten of TEN Arquitectos won a competition that included Jean Nouvel and Hani Rashid/Lise Anne Couture of Asymptote for this project at the edge of La Baranca Oblatos, a spectacular 600 meter deep canyon carved by the Río Grande de Santiago on the northeast side of Guadalajara. Norten’s design was for a vertical museum with a variety of primary and interstitial spaces that could feature a dynamic art and exhibition program with multiple potential paths.
